Lundgrens Fiskredskap AB was founded by former Leidesdorf emplyees Gustaf and Elise Lundgren in 1892. Since Leidesdorf was manufacturing and selling sportsfishing equipment, Lundgrens decided to produce and sell different equipment for professional fishing like nets, fykes and traps and soon built a reputation for top quality and functionality. This has been the trademark for Lundgrens ever since.

On Worlds Fair in Stockholm 1897, Lundgrens presented their production range with a big exhibition case.This exhibition is now stored in Nordiska museet in Stockholm. However the statue "Fiskarpojken" from exhibition can be seen today in one of the shops windows.
After Leidesdorf´s move to Stockholm city in year 1900, Lundgrens moved to present adress and this means that they are celebrating 100 years on Storkyrkobrinken this year.(2000) Together with this move, the manufacturing and selling of sportsfishing equipment also started, and the reputation for quality quickly grew in this area as well. |

To the sadness of many swedish fishermen, the production of sportsfishing equipment ceased sometimes in the fifties due to too hard competition from massproduced equipment from importers as well as domestic manufacturers like ABU, to mention one. This ment that favourites like "Lundgrens Specialdrag" and "Plåtwobblern" disapeared from the market.
At this time the biological and environmental research began, and this ment that Lundgrens, as beeing one of the foremost net manufacturers, began to develop different survey nets in cooperation with universities and research centers around the world. Survey nets are today one of the foundations of Lundgrens production range and nets from Lundgrens are famous for quality and functionality around the world.
Despite the cease of production of sportsfishing equipment, Lundgrens tackle shop´s sportsfishing department has grown, especially over the last two decades, and Lundgrens are today one of Sweden´s leading sportsfishing suppliers with what is probably the biggest range of different baits found in Scandinavia.
